Manila continues waterways cleanup operations
The Department of Public Services-Manila, under the leadership of Mayor Dra. Honey Lacuna, continues its efforts to keep the waters of Manila clean. Through the coordinated efforts of DPS personnel, simultaneous cleanup operations were initiated both on the streets and waterways of the city, starting with the Estero de Abad.
After the cleanup operation, DPS Estero Rangers reported the collection of more than 28 sacks of trash, mostly consisting of styrofoams, bottles, plastics, and rubber materials.
The cleanup drive continues with daily sweeping operations by the DPS District III Sweepers in Quiapo, including Plaza Miranda, Carriedo, Villalobos, Plaza Lacson, Raon, and Quezon Blvd. up to Recto. Meanwhile, DPS District IV conducts hauling operations in Barangay 502, Zone 50, for garbages and trimmed trees.
The community is reminded to be responsible for the environment and the waters. Please avoid throwing trash in rivers, canals, creeks, and estuaries. Let us all follow the scheduled garbage collection and disposal.
