Manila finishes measles-rubella vaccination
The Manila Health Department (MHD) successfully finished 100.28% of the Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity in the City of Manila since the start of the program last February 1.
Latest report from the Department of Health (DOH) showed that about 141,225 children in the city were vaccinated.
Manila City Health Officer Dr. Arnold 'Poks' Pangan attributed the success of the vaccination program to all medical frontliners of MHD and to the parents who were willing to let their children get vaccinated.
Pangan also thanked the Department of Health and the entire City Government of Manila for their support.
"Thankful po kami sa Manila Health Department dahil sa dedikasyon at kooperasyon ng lahat. Dahil dito, naging mabilis at episyente ang ating measles vaccination," said Dr. Pangan.
The program to vaccinate children against measles is implemented nationwide through coordination between the Department of Health (DOH), World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, RELIEF International, Healthy Philippines, and local government units across the country.
