The Paraiso ng Batang Maynila: Phase 2 playground park in Malate is a significant addition to the city's public spaces, and its inauguration on May 8, 2023, is a testament to the city's efforts to improve the quality of life of its residents.
The park is a collaboration between the City of Manila and the MMDA, with Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan leading the opening ceremony alongside MMDA Acting Chairman Atty. Romando Artes, CPA, and MMDA General Manager PCol. Procopio Lipana.
With a size of 2,047 square meters, the playground park features ample space for children and families to engage in leisure activities. It has a well-designed landscape and benches where people can sit and relax. Additionally, the park boasts of different types of lighting, making it accessible even during the night.
The rehabilitation of the Paraiso ng Batang Maynila: Phase 2 is a product of MMDA's "Adopt a Park Program," initiated by former MMDA Chairman and now Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Atty. Benjamin Abalos Jr. The program aims to transform underutilized public spaces into recreational parks and playgrounds to promote healthy living and social interaction among the community.
The Paraiso ng Batang Maynila: Phase 2 project reflects Manila's commitment to developing more public spaces that promote physical activity, socialization, and relaxation.
The city government and the MMDA will continue to work together to build more parks and playgrounds that will benefit the people of Manila. With these efforts, the city is on its way to becoming a more vibrant, sustainable, and livable place for its residents.
