Manila recognizes Filipina entrepreneurs
The City Government of Manila, led by Mayor Dra. Honey Lacuna, is set to celebrate National Women's Month by recognizing and supporting local businesses owned by Filipina entrepreneurs in the city. The Bureau of Permits Manila and the Local Economic Development and Investments Promotions Office (LEDIPO-MANILA) are spearheading the event called EntrePinays #WOMEaNBUSINESS.
The event will take place at the Kartilya ng Katipunan in Ermita, Manila from March 13 to March 19, 2023, with operating hours of 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. EntrePinays #WOMEaNBUSINESS is a week-long celebration that highlights the contributions of Filipina entrepreneurs to the local economy and promotes their products and services.
The event will feature a market showcasing various businesses owned by Filipina entrepreneurs, including food, fashion, beauty, and wellness products. There will also be seminars and talks on entrepreneurship, business development, and financial literacy, aimed at empowering and educating aspiring women entrepreneurs.
Mayor Lacuna expressed her support for the event and emphasized the importance of empowering women entrepreneurs in the city. "We believe that empowering Filipina entrepreneurs is key to achieving economic growth and development in our city," she said. "By providing them with a platform to showcase their products and services, we hope to inspire and motivate more women to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams."
EntrePinays #WOMEaNBUSINESS is just one of the many initiatives of the City Government of Manila in support of women empowerment and gender equality. Through these efforts, the city aims to create a more inclusive and progressive community that values and respects the contributions of women to society.
