Manila to distribute Christmas food packages

Tiniyak ni Manila City Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso na makatatanggap ng Christmas food packages ang 650,000 pamilyang Manileño sa darating na kapaskuhan.

Sa isang pagpupulong ngayong Lunes, ika-26 ng Oktubre, inanunsyo ni Mayor Isko na sinimulan na nila ang proseso ng acquisition ng Christmas food packages para sa mga pamilyang Manileño.

Ayon sa Alkalde, nais ng Pamahalaang Lungsod na may mapagsaluhan ang bawat pamilya sa Maynila ngayong Pasko.

“We have started acquiring Christmas packs. Protect it, keep it safe. Hindi pa ito kumpleto pero tayo ay preparado na,” sinabi ni Mayor Isko sa lingguhang Management Committee Meeting ng lokal na pamahalaan.

“Kahit papaano sa Pasko may mapagharimunan sila because 50% of that load is dedicated for Christmas, at least mayroon silang spaghetii, macaroni… mababawasan ang gutom ng mga taga-lungsod. Hindi magarbo, pero may mapapagharimunan,” aniya.

Bukod dito, may handog din na karagdagang gift packs at limang kilo ng organic rice ang lokal na pamahalaan para sa bawat sa senior citizen nito.

“Lucky for you if you are a senior, very expensive and very nutritious ang rice para sa inyo. Ang good news, bibilhin natin sa Mindanao itong black rice o red rice,” ayon kay Mayor Isko.

Samantala, tuloy-tuloy din ang pagkilos ng lokal na pamahalaan upang tugunan ang isyu ng gutom at malnutrisyon sa buong siyudad.

“Involuntary hunger… we will try to address that and technically, with or without the survey, you will expect that there will be some challenges in the lives of every family in the City of Manila,” aniya.
