Red Cross distributes cash to poor families

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC), in partnership with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), held a cash distribution to 281 families in Brgy. 754 in Malate, Manila and 339 families in Brgy. Bagbag, Quezon City, according to a report by Philippine News Agency.

PRC, under the leadership of its Chairman and CEO Senator Richard Gordon, continues to provide support and assistance to the communities greatly affected by the pandemic.

The P3,500 cash grant will be able to provide basic necessities to the beneficiaries.

Handa lagi ang Philippine Red Cross na tumulong at magbigay pagasa sa ating mga kababayan na labis na naapektuhan ng Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). Ang cash grant na ito ay magagamit upang makapag simula muli ang mga nawalan ng trabaho, single parents, at mga senior citizens (The Philippine Red Cross is always ready to help and give hope to our countrymen who were greatly affected by the enhanced community quarantine. This cash grant can be used to start again by those who lost their jobs, single parents and senior citizens),” Gordon said.

PRC targets 1,844 families in Manila and Quezon City and divided into different batches in accordance with the Inter-Agency Task Force guidelines.
