Manila mayor supports DOLE-NCR's livelihood programs

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan warmly welcomed the Department of Labor and Employment - National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) as they launched their livelihood programs aimed at supporting the informal sectors in Manila. The event took place on Tuesday, May 23, with Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan joining forces with Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma and National Anti-Poverty Commission Vice Chair for Basic Sectors Ruperto Aleroza in the awarding of benefits to deserving individuals.

A total of 104 residents of Manila were fortunate recipients of the livelihood programs provided by DOLE-NCR. The programs encompassed a diverse range of entrepreneurial opportunities, including food carts, carwash businesses, rice retailing, barbecue stalls, carinderia ventures, and tailoring services.

Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan expressed her gratitude to DOLE-NCR for their commitment to empowering the informal sectors in Manila. She acknowledged the importance of providing sustainable livelihood opportunities as a means of uplifting individuals and families out of poverty. The Mayor emphasized that these programs are designed to enable beneficiaries to become self-sufficient, generate income, and improve their quality of life.
